Performing on the night are: YAABA FUNK combining the tightest rhythm section this side of Accra, fat analogue basslines with blazing horns, sparkling African and gritty rock guitars, the Microfon Shookin/ Unbeatable- like ur Grandma’s Cookin BENIN CITY , CLAPPER PRIEST meets KOICHI SAKAI who’s first 7″ single “Rasta Far Out”, out now from Ghetto Lounge, you can hear below and YAK ATTACK, a London based, shape-shifting musical outfit built around a core of Afro-Asian rhythm, fusing Nepali folk and Afro sounds to create Afro Asian Funk / Himalayan Dub Blues.

Poejazzi, as part of its Year of the Poet season, triumphantly returns to the E4 Udderbelly; this time featuring Yungun – the internationally-acclaimed wordsmith praised by Zane Lowe and Mark Ronson, and who has supported Slum Village and De La Soul – with a live band and his brilliant upcoming album, “Middleman”; fast-rising band Benin City, whose Outkast-meets-James Brown sound is highly-rated by Xfm, BBC6 Music, SoccerAM and Reuters (listen below) – and Inua Ellams, whose stellar one-man poetry show recently completed ten dates at The National Theatre. The whole event will be hosted by exceptional new singer-songwriter Lail Arad.
